2021 OLD SHARKS SPRING/SUMMER SEASON
Welcome current and potential new Old Sharks members to another Old Sharks Hockey Club (OSHC) spring/summer season at the FSI Shark Tank!!! CAREFULLY READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW!!!
The FSI Shark Tank is located at 4297 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO. 63129, near the intersection of Meramec Bottom Road and Lemay Ferry Road. OSHC has secured ice slots to play three games per night on Sundays and two games per night on Wednesdays this summer! You can choose to play one night or both nights if you wish. For Sunday night there will be a 12-week session which will begin on June 6th and for Wednesday there will be a 12-week session which will begin on June 2nd. Game times are: 8 pm and 9:15 pm on Wednesdays (except the last two Wednesdays will begin at 9:00 pm and 10:15 pm), and 7:15 pm, 8:30 pm, and 9:45 pm on Sundays. Game dates and times are already posted on our www.oldsharkshockeyclub.com website under the Spring/Summer tab.
Both nights are for ages 18 and over with the majority players well above the age of 18. Even though we allow any skill leveled player to play on either night, we recommend that less skilled players sign up for Sunday nights and for the higher skilled players to sign up for Wednesday nights.
Here’s a description of each night being offered, the cost per player, and game times:
Sunday’s – B/C Level, Ages 18 & Up, $162.00 for 12 games.
Game times: 7:15 p.m. – 8:20 p.m., 8:30 – 9:35 p.m. and 9:45 – 10:50 p.m.
Wednesday’s – A/B/C Level, Ages 18 & Up, $162.00 for 12 games.
Game times: 8:00 – 9:05 p.m. and 9:15 – 10:20 p.m., except last 2 games begin at 9 pm & 10:15 pm.
YOU MUST PLAY ON THE NIGHT YOU SIGN UP FOR AND YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO CROSS OVER TO THE OTHER NIGHTS FOR ANY REASON!!! The only time you can sub for another player on your night is if there are less than 10 players that show up on the team that you will be playing on. The format for the games will be the same as in the past. This includes: A 4-minute warm up period followed by a 60 minute run-time game with the score and time kept on the scoreboard, one referee to call blatant penalties at which time he will award the recipient of the penalty a penalty shot, there will be the “tag up” rule for off sides and icing will be from the far blue line, no checking is allowed, each player will wear an Old Sharks (blue or yellow) jersey, and we don’t keep track of wins or losses.
We will be posting all information pertaining to the OSHC on the www.oldsharkshockeyclub.com web site. This is where you will be able to find out the team you will be assigned to for the first game. We will post the rosters of the teams a few days before the summer session begins. The first game only will also be an evaluation, so if the teams appear to be imbalanced, we will make trades in an attempt to even them out.
We have a closed roster policy which means once we fill up the sixteen out skater roster spots per team, we will not allow any substitutes outside the club for any reason. If the spring/summer session roster spots fill up for any given night, then we will begin a waiting list. If someone is interested in having their name or one of their friend’s name placed on the waiting list, they’ll need to contact Tim Kelley or Bryan Overmann at work at 636/464-1144 to let one of us know. You can also e-mail Bryan at bryano@mfos.net or Tim at timk@mfos.net with the person’s name, cell phone number, and e-mail address.
We would like to remind everyone that good sportsmanship and clean hockey play are required to continue club membership. No checking, fighting, or rough play is allowed. Very simply put, if any player behaves inappropriately, we will take the appropriate action against the player. This action could take many different forms including anything from a one game suspension to lifetime expulsion from the club if the infraction of the player is considered to be severe enough. Also, just like in the past, everyone will be required to wear full ice hockey equipment including shoulder pads and a helmet. You will not be required to wear a full-face shield. However, everyone will be required to sign a “Release of Liability Agreement” acknowledging that if you choose to not wear a face shield you will accept all of the liability for choosing not to wear the full-face shield.
REGISTRATION WILL BE DONE ON-LINE AGAIN THIS SEASON. SIMPLY GO TO www.oldsharkshockeyclub.com. CLICK ON “SPRING/SUMMER”, THEN FOLLOW THE PROMPTS TO REGISTER, ACCEPT THE “RELEASE OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT”, AND PAY FOR THE SPRING/SUMMER SESSION. ALL PAYMENTS ARE ACCEPTED VIA PAYPAL. IF YOU DON’T HAVE JERSEY’S, MAKE SURE YOU ORDER A SET. THEY ARE $65.00 PER SET FOR OUTSKATERS AND GOALIES. Once you have purchased Old Sharks jerseys, you will NOT be required to purchase jerseys for future sessions until you need to replace your worn-out jerseys. Goalies will play for free as in the past, but they’ll have to pay for jerseys if they need them.
If you have any questions that have not been addressed in this letter, feel free to call Tim Kelley or Bryan Overmann at work during regular business hours at 636/464-1144. Thank you to all of you for making the Old Sharks Hockey Club a GREAT SUCCESS!!!
